Astor Creek Country Club is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Line Cooks to join their dynamic culinary team. This role involves preparing a diverse menu with consistent quality, accuracy, and attention to detail, following recipe cards and instructions from the Executive Chef and General Manager. Line Cooks are integral to providing an exceptional dining experience, ensuring food is prepared to the highest standards of quality, portion control, and presentation. The position offers both full-time and part-time employment with hourly wages ranging from $20 to $22, depending on experience. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience working in a full-service restaurant kitchen
- ability to perform basic mathematical skills
- ability to perform moderate physical work and lift up to 40 lbs.
- ability to work in fast-paced environment
- maintain Food Handlers or Managers Certificate
- follow sanitation procedures
- very good communication skills
- ability to complete opening and closing checklists
- ability to work according to shift assignments
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as cook
- experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bake ware
- knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods including grilling, baking, boiling
- ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- very good communication skills
- excellent physical condition and stamina
- high school diploma or equivalent
- diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
Job Duties
- Comply with written standardized food recipes and beverages to ensure the production of consistent quality and portion control
- receive and check food and supplies into the kitchen and storerooms including inspecting the condition of contents and checking against invoices and orders
- maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas as instructed by the Chef or General Manager
- complete opening and closing checklists as outlined by the Chef or General Manager
- protect the assets of the Club
- operate within the guidelines, policies, standards, and constraints established by Hampton Golf
- maintain Food Handlers or Managers Certificate
- assist with other duties as needed
