The Line Cook position at Torchys Tacos plays a vital role in upholding the companys culinary standards. The role is designed for individuals who thrive in a busy, dynamic kitchen setting and are passionate about food preparation and presentation. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for multiple cooking stations, including frying, grilling, sautéeing, steaming, and taco assembly, ensuring every dish meets Torchys exacting standards of quality and flavor. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $13.00 to $16.00, dependent on experience, plus pooled tips which significantly enhance total take-home pay.

Job Requirements

  • Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler's certification
  • Certification must be obtained by first day or within required timeline
  • Open to varied work schedules and hours based on restaurant's needs

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds

Job Duties

  • Master the fry station, ensuring all fried items are cooked to perfection with the right crispiness and flavor
  • Operate the grill station, cooking proteins to the correct temperature and ensuring each taco ingredient is grilled to perfection
  • Manage the saute station, handling various ingredients to create flavorful and perfectly cooked dishes
  • Operate steam equipment to prepare dishes requiring steaming, maintaining the right texture and flavor
  • Assemble and build each taco to order, ensuring high standards and guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and cook ingredients according to Torchy's recipes and standards
  • Monitor quality and presentation of dishes before serving
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work station to meet food safety standards
  • Collaborate with back-of-house team members to ensure timely and accurate food preparation
  • Assist with inventory stocking and organization
  • Operate efficiently during busy periods while maintaining food quality and presentation
