The role of Line Cook at Legends Bay Grill is pivotal in supporting the culinary team, specifically working under the guidance of the Chef, Sous Chef, and Executive Chef. This position is critical in ensuring that menu items are prepared accurately following established recipes and that each dish meets the restaurant’s quality and presentation standards. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing, finishing, and garnishing all menu items efficiently while adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols. This is a hands-on culinary role that requires attention to detail, strong knife skills, and the ability to maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the service period.

As a Line Cook, you will be expected to practice proper food handling techniques and apply kitchen safety procedures consistently. Your responsibilities extend to disinfecting and sanitizing cutting boards, worktables, and ensuring the overall kitchen environment complies with Health Department regulations at all times. The role involves operating in a fast-paced kitchen setting where flexibility to work varied shifts—including weekends, holidays, and possible overtime—is essential. Candidates must be prepared to work in environments with secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lighting, and dust.

This position is ideal for individuals with at least one year of restaurant experience, preferably those holding a High School Diploma or GED. Being bilingual (English/Spanish) is considered a plus, enhancing communication within a diverse team.   • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, with variable overtime
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust
  • Food Handlers Certification
  • Must have related kitchen tools

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and/or GED preferred
  • 1 year restaurant experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and sanitation
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing menu items as directed by the recipes provided by the Sous Chef and/or Executive Chef
  • Ensures that the quality and presentation of food products meet company standards
  • Responsible for preparing, finishing and garnishing all menu items
  • Practices proper food and knife handling
  • Uses and applies proper kitchen safety procedures and basic cooking skills
  • Maintain a clean workstation during service time
  • Disinfects and sanitizes cutting boards and worktables
  • Ensures kitchen and Health Department sanitation requirements are always maintained
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Must have related kitchen tools
