Job Description
Brasserie by Niche is a cherished culinary landmark in the Central West End, renowned for over 15 years for its authentic classic French bistro cuisine. As a proud member of Niche Food Group, a respected multi-concept restaurant organization, Brasserie offers not only a menu steeped in traditional French techniques but also a warm, tightly-knit, family-style kitchen atmosphere. The restaurant has built a reputation on its commitment to quality, consistency, and a shared passion among team members, many of whom have been part of the family for years. This long tenure speaks volumes about the strong culture and supportive environment cultivated at Brasserie, making it more than just a place to work but a true community for culinary professionals.
Niche Food Group, founded in 2005 by the acclaimed chef Gerard Craft, Missouri's first James Beard Award winner, has grown from a single establishment to a celebrated collection of dining concepts. The group's influence spans approachable Italian and French dishes to inventive wood-fired pizzas and innovative speakeasy-style cocktails, collectively shaping the St. Louis dining scene. Central to Niche Food Group’s philosophy is an unwavering commitment to hospitality—whether to guests, staff, suppliers, or each other. Their dedication to craft and investment in their people distinguishes them as an employer that values growth, leadership, and excellence at every level.
The Line Cook role at Brasserie by Niche is ideal for a culinary professional passionate about mastering classic French cooking and excelling in a high-energy, fast-paced kitchen environment. The position requires working within a small, focused team where each person has ownership of their station and contributes positively to a collaborative culture. Precision, consistency, and a strong work ethic are essential, as is the enthusiasm to embrace the standards and values that have made Brasserie a staple in the area. This is not just a job but an opportunity to join a kitchen where passion for food is visible in every dish, and where team members support and inspire one another.
Candidates should bring 2-3 years of line cook experience, with a preference for those who have worked with French or European cuisines. The ability to maintain high-quality output during busy service periods, combined with a genuine enthusiasm for classic culinary techniques, will make a candidate successful in this role. Beyond the kitchen skills, the ideal hire will be someone who appreciates the chance to grow within an esteemed restaurant group, showcasing a commitment to their craft and to the company’s culture.
This role offers a competitive hourly wage starting at $20.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package that is exceptional in the hospitality industry. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) with employer matching, and mental health resources such as free counseling. Employees enjoy real opportunities for advancement within Niche Food Group's diverse portfolio, coupled with employee discounts at all group restaurants. This reflects Niche Food Group's acknowledgment of the importance of investing in their team’s well-being and professional development. The position is based in-person, providing a hands-on environment to hone culinary skills and contribute meaningfully to an esteemed team.
