Palmer Food Services is currently seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join their dynamic kitchen team. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of food quality and presentation that customers have come to expect. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items according to established Palmer recipes using various kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers. Attention to detail and quality is paramount, as the Line Cook assumes full responsibility for every plate leaving the station, ensuring consistency in portion size, cooking methods, and overall product quality.
In addition to cooking, the Line Cook will collaborate closely with the Prepared Foods Manager to assist with menu development and chef case items, supporting any food prep needs during off-peak hours. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the workstation and kitchen area is essential, as is adhering to company policies, kitchen rules, and hygiene standards. The role also involves opening and closing kitchen operations properly and occasionally training new hires under the guidance of the management team. The ideal candidate will present a professional image through appropriate dress and grooming, fostering a positive impression with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

- Minimum 1-4 years experience as a line cook

Job Duties
- Live the company’s values by displaying high standard characteristics and behaviors
- Prepare and cook a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using Palmer recipes
- Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served and monitor each plate that leaves the station
- Work with the Prepared Foods Manager on menu and chef case items when applicable
- Know and comply consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen policies
- Stock and maintain sufficient food product levels at line stations
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and kitchen area
- Complete tasks within assigned time frames
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
- Perform related duties such as assisting around Market or with other projects
- Open and/or close the kitchen properly and assist others
- Assist in training new hires as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Present a professional image with appropriate dress and grooming
