The Line Cook is a vital team member responsible for preparing and cooking dishes according to the restaurant's recipes, standards, and safety guidelines. This position requires an individual who can manage their assigned station with responsibility, maintain cleanliness, and ensure all food safety protocols are diligently followed. A Line Cook must be able to operate kitchen equipment safely, monitor food temperatures, and report any discrepancies or issues promptly. The candidate will be expected to prepare food items consistently, complete prep work efficiently for the next day, and maintain the station's inventory and cleanliness. This position offers hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment and provides opportunities for skill development and career growth within the culinary field. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred
  • Understanding of food safety regulations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Physical stamina to handle kitchen tasks and lifting
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a line cook or similar kitchen role
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow recipes and chef instructions accurately
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills for team coordination

Job Duties

  • Complete station sheet immediately upon arrival before doing anything else
  • Set up the assigned line or station
  • Make sure all equipment is on at the correct setting or temperature before each shift
  • Monitor cooler temperature on all coolers associated with your station
  • Maintain temperature safety standards of all food products on your station as outlined by the chef or sous chef
  • Taste all completed recipes before the start of the shift and throughout service
  • Sweep and mop the upstairs kitchen when needed
  • Prepare all dishes during service consistently and as shown or trained
  • Take out trash at the end of each shift
  • Scrub clean and or wipe down all equipment during and after each shift
  • Complete prep list at the end of the night for the next day
  • Ice down all seafood in the cooler
  • Let a manager know if anything in the kitchen is not working properly or broken
  • Wrap label and date all food items and store in the proper spots at the end of each shift
  • Wipe down all mobile carts at the end of each shift
  • Turn off all equipment at the end of each shift
  • Maintain cleanliness of all coolers in your area
  • Report any broken lost malfunctioning item tool appliance to the chef or sous chef immediately
  • Know what is on your station at all times and manage inventory responsibly
  • Give counts when running low on any item on your station
