This organization takes pride in its compassionate, mission-driven culture, offering a full continuum of care that includes independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care across multiple communities including Evanston, Lake Forest, and Arlington Heights. Located in Arlington Heights, The Moorings is committed to creating an environment that values residents, families, and employees alike in a supportive and collaborative setting. Recognized as a Great Place to Work, it underscores its dedication to an inclusive, supportive, and engaging workplace. The Moorings seeks team members who are passionate, compassionate, and eager to contribute their strengths toward enhancing the lives of older adults in a community focused on wellness, independence, joy, and security.
The role of Line Cook within The Moorings of Arlington Heights is a full-time position situated in the Dining Department, working primarily the 2nd shift for five days a week. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a passion for culinary excellence and take pride in preparing dishes that not only delight residents but also meet the highest standards of food safety and quality. Offering an hourly rate between $18.35 to $26.98 based on years of experience, this position also includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus, emphasizing the value The Moorings places on attracting skilled culinary professionals.
In this role, the Line Cook is responsible for preparing a diverse range of dishes from scratch, focusing on proper accompaniments and garnishes to enhance the dining experience. The position requires knowledge and adherence to stringent food safety and quality guidelines, as well as the flexibility to work across different dining areas as the need arises. Attention to detail is critical for maintaining proper portioning, plating, and presentation standards, ensuring that every meal served contributes to a positive and uplifting environment for the community's residents.
The Moorings values collaboration and a people-centered culture that supports personal and professional growth. Employees benefit from comprehensive healthcare packages including medical, dental, and vision coverage, alongside wellness programs such as onsite fitness facilities and Wellhub access. Financial security is supported through PTO rollover/sellback options, a 403(b) plan with a company match, commuter benefits, and access to financial counseling. Life insurance, disability coverage, and employee assistance programs provide additional peace of mind. The organization also invests in employee development with tuition reimbursement, scholarships, mentorship programs, and clearly defined career pathways. Beyond the workplace, team members enjoy engagement events and 24/7 chaplain counseling services, emphasizing the organization’s commitment to both emotional and spiritual wellness.
If you are looking for a rewarding career within a community that feels like family, offers meaningful impact in the lives of senior residents, and supports your professional aspirations with a people-first approach, The Moorings of Arlington Heights invites you to apply for the Line Cook position. Join a team where your culinary talents and dedication to exceptional service are recognized and valued, and discover the difference you can make in a workplace that is connected by shared values and mutual respect.
