Job Description
Wallick Communities is a seasoned and dedicated establishment devoted to providing affordable multi-family housing and assisted-living communities across the Midwest. With over 55 years of experience, Wallick Communities focuses on supporting low-income families, single parents, and senior citizens by offering them more than just housing — they provide a true sense of home. Currently operating 9 thriving communities with an expanding presence, Wallick Communities employs a committed team of 500 associates, boasting an impressive 92 percent associate engagement score. At Wallick, the mission is clear: Opening doors to homes, opportunity, and hope. The organization is built on core values such as care, character, and collaboration, which shape the positive and inclusive culture within the company. Wallick is also deeply committed to diversity, equity, inclusion, and fostering a sense of belonging among all employees. This welcoming spirit ensures a dynamic and supportive workplace where every team member can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
The Ashford of Grove City, part of the Wallick Communities family, is currently seeking a dedicated Cook to join their culinary team. This full-time position offers a pay rate of $16 per hour and requires flexibility as the role may include working holidays and weekends. The Cook at The Ashford of Grove City will play a vital role in enhancing the dining experience for residents, visitors, and employees by preparing, seasoning, and cooking meals according to established tested recipes. Every meal served is crafted with great care, recognizing the important contribution of culinary services to the well-being and satisfaction of residents. The role involves not only cooking but also ensuring the cleanliness of large equipment used in preparation and serving areas, organizing food to be ready at serving times, and maintaining high-quality standards throughout meal preparation.
In this role, the Cook will perform routine temperature checks and taste tests to uphold product quality, manage portion control, and make practical decisions related to the use of perishable food items. The Cook will also be responsible for setting up food in steam tables and replenishing food supplies as required during service. This position requires excellent communication skills to effectively interact with co-workers, residents, and family members, as well as the ability to handle inquiries or complaints professionally. Basic math skills are necessary for managing measurements and portions, and proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected to support operational tasks.
At Wallick Communities, employee well-being is prioritized with a comprehensive benefits package that includes pay on-demand, paid parental leave, health, dental, and vision insurance within two weeks, free meals, company-provided uniforms, gym membership or fitness equipment reimbursement, company-paid life and long-term disability insurance, and several voluntary insurance options. Employees also enjoy paid time off, holiday pay, 401(k) with company match after 90 days, tuition reimbursement, and employee referral bonuses. Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical examination performed by a nurse practitioner, and a background check. Join The Ashford of Grove City team and become part of a company devoted to making a real difference in residents' lives while fostering an inclusive, rewarding workplace environment.
