The Line Cook position at Sodexo is based at the British Airways Lounge located at IAD (Washington Dulles International Airport). This is a full-time role offering a competitive hourly wage of $23.50. The work schedule requires open availability with shifts that may vary, providing flexibility and opportunities to accommodate diverse lifestyles and commitments. As a Line Cook, your primary responsibility is to prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items across multiple meal periods and special events while adhering to Sodexo's culinary standards. Emphasis is placed on quality, presentation, consistency, and food safety, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all guests at the lounge. You will operate efficiently in a busy kitchen, maintaining cleanliness and organization at your workstation throughout your shift.
The role demands attention to detail and the ability to follow precise recipes and production plans, including tasting and seasoning food, estimating ingredient quantities, and maintaining accurate records for supply requisition. Physical stamina is essential, as the position requires extended periods of standing and walking, along with occasional lifting of moderate weights.

Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive motions
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 2 years of related work experience
- Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Good working knowledge of food preparation
- Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
Job Duties
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines, and regulations to ensure high-quality food service is provided
- Follow basic recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, check production, and keep records to accurately plan production requirements and requisition supplies and equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth operations and excellent service
- Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts depending on business necessities and client requirements
