Founded and owned by a chef, Merriman's offers a unique kitchen environment that fosters growth, creativity, and a deep passion for cooking. The restaurant prioritizes working closely with local farmers and ranchers to secure the best possible ingredients, making it a fantastic place for anyone who not only loves cooking but is also eager to build a rewarding career in the food service industry. Employees benefit from an authentic farm-to-table experience where quality, sustainability, and culinary excellence are at the core of every dish served. Merriman's commitment to training and professional development ensures that all kitchen staff, regardless of their experience, are supported and guided to enhance their culinary skills and knowledge continuously.

The Cook position at Merriman's Honolulu is an opportunity to join a professional kitchen that emphasizes top-tier cooking techniques and offers robust support for career advancement. This role involves preparing and cooking menu items to a high standard, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and collaborating effectively with the culinary team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Employees in this role receive competitive total compensation exceeding $27.50 per hour, which includes base pay, kitchen service charge, tip sharing, and holiday pay incentives for working key holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Paid time off (PTO) accrual, employee discounts, and flexible working schedules such as 4-day work weeks further enrich the work environment.

In addition to monetary benefits, Merriman's Honolulu supports continual education and professional development through programs for junior sous chef and sous chef growth, menu planning meetings with the corporate chef, and farm tours that deepen employees' understanding of ingredient sourcing and sustainability. This comprehensive approach makes Merriman's not just a workplace but a culinary community where employees can thrive, learn, and contribute creatively. The restaurant is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming a diverse workforce across all genders, ages, races, religions, and national origins, supporting an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture that values respect and collaboration.
