Job Description

This role is essential to supporting our kitchen operations by preparing food to precise specifications and ensuring the smooth functioning of the cooking stations. The successful candidate will play a significant role in enhancing customer satisfaction and contributing to the acquisition of new patrons by delivering consistently high-quality dishes and maintaining hygiene and safety standards.\n\nThe line cook will be responsible for setting up and stocking their station with all necessary supplies before service begins, preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces. Cooking menu items in cooperation with other kitchen staff, the line cook will ensure that food is prepared accurately and promptly. The role requires attention to detail, speed, and a thorough understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Additionally, the position demands compliance with all nutrition, sanitation regulations, and safety standards, emphasizing a safe and clean work environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience as a line cook or similar role
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle kitchen equipment
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Proven cooking experience including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • familiarity with the industry's best practices

Job Duties

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • prepare food for service such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces
  • cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • answer, report and follow all operational instructions
  • clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • stock inventory appropriately
  • ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
