We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The Line Cook is a fundamental role responsible for preparing food in accordance with club recipes and standards to ensure exceptional quality and consistency. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a passion for food preparation, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation. As a Line Cook, you will report directly to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, assisting them in maintaining kitchen safety, security, and cleanliness. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the club's reputation for outstanding food presentation and taste.

This position demands someone who is organized and able to set up, maintain, and break down the prep cook station effectively. You will prepare all required items for service, set up service units with needed items, and requisition ingredients thoughtfully to avoid shortages. Adherence to state and local health and safety regulations is paramount to ensure the well-being of both the team and our members. In collaboration with other kitchen staff, you will coordinate and time orders to maximize efficiency and ensure timely service.

Furthermore, the role involves maintaining a neat professional appearance, observing personal cleanliness rules, and proactively recommending maintenance or repair work for kitchen equipment as needed. The Line Cook is also expected to attend staff meetings and assist with additional duties as assigned by the Sous Chef, reflecting a team-oriented approach. Physical fitness is necessary as the role requires lifting up to 40 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience working in a professional kitchen
  • knowledge of state and local health and safety regulations
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • physical ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
  • willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to follow directions and work collaboratively

  • Experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role

Job Duties

  • Prepares all required items
  • sets up service units with needed items
  • prepares items that are ordered in accordance with established portions and presentation standards
  • notifies Executive Chef or Sous Chef of expected shortages
  • ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary
  • assists the sous chef in maintaining security and safety in the kitchen

  • covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable

  • makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment
