As a Cook at The Grand Senior Living, you will be part of a dedicated culinary team led by experienced chefs and managers who are passionate about food quality, safety, and innovation.
This position is ideal for culinary enthusiasts who are eager to apply their skills in meal preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations while adhering to the highest standards of sanitation and food safety. You will be responsible for preparing assigned meals according to established recipes and gastronomic standards, ensuring the freshness and quality of ingredients through meticulous inventory management and first-in, first-out food rotation systems. Your role also includes maintaining temperature charts, food safety records, and upholding Civitas standards in personal grooming and kitchen hygiene.
Collaboration is key in this role as you assist in organizing kitchen areas, food storage, and dish rooms, fostering a spirit of teamwork and innovation. The position encourages ongoing skill development through support of the Chef Manager and Food and Beverage Director to improve kitchen efficiency and provide training opportunities for staff. Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or chef
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare meals accurately
- Strong attention to detail in food presentation
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to personal hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Residency within the state where the community operates

- Notify Chef of inventory needs and participate in streamlined kitchen operations
- Uphold Civitas standards in personal grooming and kitchen hygiene
- Assist in organizing kitchen, food storage, dish room, and other culinary areas
- Foster a spirit of collaboration and innovation
- Ensure first-in, first-out food rotation system with proper dating and organization
- Assist Chef Manager and F&B Director to improve kitchen efficiency and offer staff training
- Follow all sanitation, food handling protocols, safety policies, and meet regulatory requirements
