Job Description

Wagamama is a renowned global restaurant brand known for its vibrant and fresh approach to Asian-inspired cuisine. Established to deliver a unique dining experience, wagamama emphasizes quality food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere where both guests and team members feel valued. At wagamama, the philosophy "from bowl to soul" reflects their commitment to not only serving delicious food but also fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment. This commitment manifests in a culture that encourages continuous improvement, teamwork, and personal growth, making it much more than just a place to work.

Wagamama’s foundation is built on the principle of kaizen, which means continuous improvement. The company believes that every day offers an opportunity to be better than yesterday, whether in how they operate the kitchen, serve customers, or support their employees’ development. This focus on betterment influences every aspect of the business—from refining recipes to enhancing team collaboration to providing meaningful career pathways. Wagamama prides itself on being the kind of workplace where employees don’t just clock in for shifts but build valuable skills and careers alongside passionate colleagues.

The line cook role at wagamama is essential to bringing the menu to life. Positioned at the very heart of the kitchen, line cooks are tasked with preparing dishes with precision, speed, consistency, and care to ensure a memorable guest experience every time. This role involves working in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment where culinary skills and teamwork are paramount. Line cooks contribute significantly to the quality and presentation of dishes, making sure every plate meets wagamama’s high standards.

Line cooks at wagamama operate across multiple stations, including wok, ramen, fry, and teppan, demonstrating versatility and confidence in their culinary skills. They are responsible for managing their stations efficiently during service, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a smooth workflow to support the overall kitchen operations. Safety, hygiene, and adherence to food safety regulations are top priorities, with line cooks following all procedures for handling, storing, and preparing ingredients properly.

Beyond food preparation, the role requires clear communication and collaboration with the kitchen team to deliver seamless service during busy periods. Line cooks also play a part in mentoring newer team members, fostering a positive, team-first atmosphere that reflects wagamama’s values. The company values effort, bold ideas, and continuous learning, and in this role, individuals have the opportunity to grow their culinary expertise and advance within the organization.

This role also demands physical stamina and the ability to work in a warm, fast-paced kitchen environment. Candidates should be prepared to stand and move for extended periods, safely handle kitchen equipment, and lift moderately heavy items. Wagamama offers full-time opportunities with competitive benefits, including free meals during shifts, dining discounts, and comprehensive medical coverage for eligible team members. This combination of a supportive culture, a focus on professional development, and tangible employee benefits makes working as a line cook at wagamama a rewarding and career-building experience.
