We are currently seeking a passionate and dependable Cook to join our Culinary team at Washington Dulles Marriott Suites. This role is integral to preparing high-quality hot and cold food items for both our restaurant and catering operations. The Cook will be responsible for ensuring that all dishes meet Marriott’s rigorous standards in terms of recipe adherence, presentation, and overall food quality. This position requires a blend of culinary skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment. With flexible full-time and part-time hourly positions available, hourly pay ranges between $18 and $20, offering an excellent opportunity for culinary professionals to grow within the hospitality industry.
The Cook will actively participate in ingredient preparation, portioning, chopping, and storing while operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. The role also includes responsibilities for washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, weighing and mixing ingredients precisely, plating food to presentation standards, and supporting the culinary team in achieving fast-paced production goals. Maintaining the overall sanitation and safety of the kitchen space and equipment is crucial, as is adherence to food safety protocols including labeling, dating, and rotating food products.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- minimum of 2 years of cooking experience preferred
- ability to work full-time or part-time hours including weekends and holidays
- physical capability to stand walk bend lift push and pull throughout shift
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
- flexibility to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of cook experience preferred
- hotel or high-volume restaurant experience is a plus
- knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- familiarity with kitchen equipment and safe operating practices

Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning chopping and storing food
- wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
- weigh measure and mix ingredients according to recipes
- prepare and cook food following established recipes quality standards and presentation specifications
- prepare cold foods and assist with hot line production
- operate kitchen equipment including ovens stoves grills microwaves and fryers
- monitor food quality and ensure items are cooked properly
- set up and break down workstations efficiently
- plate and serve food in proper portions and presentation standards
- maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen including tools equipment tables and work areas
- label date and rotate food products according to food safety procedures
- monitor and record temperatures of food and kitchen equipment
- complete required end-of-shift paperwork including cleaning schedules and production charts
- support the culinary team and complete additional duties as assigned by management
