We are currently seeking a passionate and talented Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Line Cook at Piper's Landing, you will play a crucial part in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes that meet our strict standards of excellence. Your daily responsibilities will involve a variety of culinary tasks including grilling, frying, and cooking diverse menu items while maintaining precise portion controls and adhering to Piper's Landing recipes. You will coordinate the timing of orders so that dishes are served promptly and perfectly together, contributing to an outstanding dining experience. Beyond cooking, you will also be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of your work station and kitchen areas, including sanitizing equipment and managing food supplies efficiently to prevent spoilage. Maintaining food safety compliance is paramount and you will be expected to uphold and maintain your Food Handler’s Certification throughout your employment.

Job Requirements

  • Food safety certification

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting preferred, especially in fine dining or catering environments
  • strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques
  • knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation procedures
  • experience with meal preparation, cooking methods, and food service operations
  • background in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
  • ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
  • excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving guests and supporting colleagues

Job Duties

  • Clean food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
  • perform food preparation tasks
  • perform general cleaning activities in kitchen
  • restock kitchen supplies, rotate food, and print the time and date label for food in coolers
  • grill, cook, and fry foods
  • coordinate timing of orders so that items are served together
  • cook, plate, and garnish all menu items
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware
  • store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • take and record temperature of food and food storage areas, such as refrigerators and freezers
  • prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts, according to guest's orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures
  • package take-out foods
  • stock storage areas and refrigerators
  • carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas
  • distribute food to servers to serve guests
  • remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
  • receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators and other storage areas
  • weigh or measure ingredients
  • inform supervisors when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order needed items
  • assist other kitchen staff with various tasks as needed and provide with needed items
  • use manual or electric appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foods
  • keep records of the quantities of food wasted or thrown away
  • sweep and mop kitchen floor
  • maintain Food Handler’s Certification
  • maintain a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
