Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • One to two years of relevant employment experience
  • Sauté and grill station experience
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 pounds
  • Capacity to stand continuously during shifts
  • Ability to work in environments ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Full range of mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly

Job Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Experience of one to two full years in a related position
  • Sauté and grill experience required
  • Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
  • Ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Check all items against the recipe cards
  • Verify that use records are followed for all items served
  • Ensure food is presented in an efficient, quality manner
  • Monitor the line setup prior to all meal functions for maximum efficiency
  • Maintain equipment and enforce the kitchen clean as you go policy
  • Prepare food following recipe cards and production standards
  • Start food items prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
  • Date all food containers and rotate perishables
  • Check pars for shift use and line setup
  • Note out-of-stock items or shortages
  • Assist in keeping buffet stocked
  • Return unused food to storage with proper covering and dating
  • Help set up plans to control food cost, waste, and usage
