Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two years of relevant employment experience
- Sauté and grill station experience
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 pounds
- Capacity to stand continuously during shifts
- Ability to work in environments ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate effectively
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Full range of mobility to travel 30-50 feet regularly
Job Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- Experience of one to two full years in a related position
- Sauté and grill experience required
- Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures
- Ability to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Job Duties
- Check all items against the recipe cards
- Verify that use records are followed for all items served
- Ensure food is presented in an efficient, quality manner
- Monitor the line setup prior to all meal functions for maximum efficiency
- Maintain equipment and enforce the kitchen clean as you go policy
- Prepare food following recipe cards and production standards
- Start food items prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
- Date all food containers and rotate perishables
- Check pars for shift use and line setup
- Note out-of-stock items or shortages
- Assist in keeping buffet stocked
- Return unused food to storage with proper covering and dating
- Help set up plans to control food cost, waste, and usage
