The Line Cook position at Giant Eagle is a vital role responsible for ensuring that each guest receives their restaurant order promptly and accurately while fostering an exceptional dining experience. Serving as a key player in the kitchen team, the Line Cook is tasked with preparing and seasoning a variety of meats, vegetables, soups, and other food items following prescribed recipes to maintain high-quality food standards. The Line Cook not only contributes to the timely delivery of food but also plays an important part in building guest loyalty by providing consistent quality and memorable service. This role requires understanding and demonstrating different cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures while prioritizing safety for Team Members, guests, and food products. The hiring range for this role is $18.00 per hour, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, education, and location. Job Requirements

- 6 months to 1 year experience in food service or related field
- Food safety certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- No high school diploma required

Job Duties
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Understand and demonstrate various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Maintain safety as the top priority in all aspects of your work, for our Team Members, guests, and products
- Provide unparalleled guest service, constantly striving to delight and surprise our guests, vendors, and stakeholders
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, cutting meat or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the Restaurant Staff
- Answer, report and follow Executive Chef's instructions
- Clean up kitchen and package or discard leftover food
- Know and consistently comply with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures
