- Proven experience in food preparation or cooking
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work evening shifts, full-time or part-time
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical stamina to handle kitchen tasks and stand for long periods
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related culinary role within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling techniques
- Experience working in fine dining environments or catering services is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Prior kitchen experience demonstrating teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail
Job Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and freshness
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining presentation standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, including serving orders promptly and efficiently
- Use knife skills expertly for chopping, slicing, dicing, and other food preparation tasks necessary for meal assembly
