This Line Cook role is an essential part of the culinary team at Buffalo Marriott Niagara, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality food preparation that contributes directly to guest satisfaction. The position involves preparing daily menus and specials following established policies and preparation sheets. The line cook must be versatile, capable of working all stations along the kitchen line, and ready to assist other team members and production areas, including the restaurant and banquet services, when time allows. Maintaining cleanliness, proper sanitation, and organization of the workstation at all times is critical to this role. The line cook takes responsibility for preparing tickets and function sheets efficiently while ensuring that every dish meets the hotel's quality and presentation standards. Additionally, this role involves product rotation and communication with supervisors regarding inventory issues or other concerns. The role demands adherence to all sanitation protocols as dictated by county and state health regulations. The position requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasionally overnight shifts, handling the physically demanding and sometimes stressful environment of a busy hotel kitchen. The ideal candidate would bring prior experience in line or prep cooking, basic culinary skills including knife handling, and a clear understanding of food safety practices. Job Duties

  • Prepares menus and dinner specials according to policies and prep/par sheets
  • Involved in the preparation of daily specials
  • Can work all stations on the line
  • assists others as needed
  • Assist other production areas when time permits (restaurant/banquets)
  • Follows all standard preparation standards and line set-up policies
  • prepares tickets and functions sheets as quickly as possible ensuring quality and presentation procedures are followed
  • Keeps the workstation clean and organized at all times and ensures proper sanitation policies are followed
  • Helps in banquet production and plating
  • Maintains and rotates all products, communicating with supervisors when products are not servable or other problems exist
  • Cleans and rotates all containers daily
  • Follows all sanitation policies as set by county and state policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
