The available position is for part-time cooks who will operate in various kitchen stations such as prep, fry, line, grill, salad, and sandwich areas. This role reports to the Kitchen Manager and Manager on Duty, ensuring all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. Walk-On's cooks are essential playmakers behind every delicious plate served, bringing to life the vibrant tastes of Louisiana that complement the energetic gameday atmosphere.

As a cook at Walk-On's, you will be expected to show up prepared and on time, wearing the proper uniform and bringing a positive, team-first mindset. You will execute chef-driven recipes with accuracy and consistency, learning to prepare and plate dishes that meet the company’s exacting standards. Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment is crucial, with a strong emphasis on practicing 'clean as you go' habits to guarantee safety and sanitation.

The role demands the ability to handle high-volume shifts with composure and energy, especially during busy gameday service periods. You'll follow food rotation and labeling standards carefully to keep ingredients fresh and safe, use portioning tools and scales for consistency, and help maintain and calibrate kitchen equipment such as thermometers, fryers, and grills.

Beyond cooking, assisting with deliveries, unloading, stocking, and food rotation duties are part of the role. Collaboration is key, as you will jump in wherever needed to support teammates and keep kitchen operations flowing seamlessly. Responsibility also extends to general kitchen upkeep, including taking out trash, breaking down cardboard, and preparing the kitchen for the next shift.

  • Comfort working around high heat, fryers, char-grills, and slicers (18+ required for slicer use)
  • Ability to measure ingredients accurately by weight and volume
  • Strong focus on food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
