The role of a Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is a full-time position scheduled from Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 7pm. In this critical culinary role, the Line Cook is entrusted with multi-functional responsibilities inclusive of food preparation, kitchen set-up, service, and cleanup within a busy commercial kitchen environment that serves the senior community. The Line Cook will prepare meals from scratch following company recipes to guarantee high-quality food prep and attractive presentation that enhances residents’ dining experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential
  • All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic Culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written English

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
