The role of Line Cook at Belmont Village Senior Living is vital to the community's daily operations and dining experience. This position involves multi-functional duties related to food preparation, set-up, service, and kitchen clean-up within a senior living community commercial kitchen environment. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing meals from scratch, adhering to recipe specifications, and ensuring high food quality and presentation standards. The ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, takes pride in their culinary skills, and thrives in a fast-paced kitchen setting. This position operates on a schedule of Tuesday through Saturday or Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The Line Cook contributes significantly to the overall mission of Belmont Village by ensuring that all meals served meet high-quality standards and that residents feel valued through attentive hospitality. The cook's attention to detail includes managing cook times, portion control, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and abiding by all safety and hygiene regulations. In addition, the role demands a professional and pleasant attitude, good communication skills, and the capacity to handle multiple orders efficiently. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Professional, pleasant and team oriented attitude
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Proven success with basic culinary skills such as knife handling, accurate measurements and cooking methods
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for all Belmont Village employees to ensure the successful operation of the community
  • All offers of employment are conditional based on the successful completion of a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
