As a renowned destination, Alderbrook Resort & Spa is committed to excellent guest service, which is supported by a collaborative and supportive team culture. The company embraces diversity and inclusivity, making it a welcoming workplace for employees of all backgrounds. With a strong focus on employee development, the resort offers on-the-job training and opportunities for skill advancement within the hospitality industry. Employees benefit from a work environment rich in natural beauty and equipped with fantastic amenities, all while developing their careers in hospitality in a setting that balances both relaxation and adventure.
The Line Cook position at Alderbrook Resort & Spa is a full-time, seasonal role through the summer of 2026, requiring 30-plus hours per week. The pay ranges from $20 to $26 per hour, which includes an $18-$24 per hour base rate plus average hourly bonuses. As a Line Cook at this award-winning resort, you will be an essential part of the culinary team responsible for preparing dishes that highlight locally sourced ingredients and regional flavors. This role demands at least two years of commercial kitchen experience and a deep passion for culinary arts, with a Culinary Arts degree considered an advantageous qualification. Your daily responsibilities will include preparing meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients in adherence to high standards of quality and presentation. You will maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure efficiency during busy service periods. In addition, you will contribute to menu innovation, helping to create exciting and dynamic dining experiences that delight guests. All new hires must obtain a Washington State Food Worker Card within 14 days of employment to comply with health regulations.
The work environment is typical of a professional kitchen where temperature variations, moderate noise levels, and exposure to certain chemicals are common. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, talking and hearing, frequent walking and sitting, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Precision, hand dexterity, and sustained concentration, both visual and mental, are important for success in this role. Alderbrook Resort & Spa values a proactive, kind, and authentic approach to hospitality and invites individuals ready to be part of a special team dedicated to creating unforgettable guest experiences. The resort offers comprehensive perks that promote employee wellness and satisfaction, including a 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions (upon meeting eligibility), paid sick time for part-time and seasonal staff, free daily meals made fresh from the kitchen, free kayak and paddleboard rentals, and generous discounts on resort rooms, spa treatments, dining, and more.
Joining Alderbrook Resort & Spa as a Line Cook means working in a fulfilling environment where you can enhance your culinary skills while contributing to a high-caliber dining program in one of the most beautiful locations in Washington State. If you have the passion for food preparation and teamwork, and you appreciate fostering guest-centered experiences, this role offers an excellent pathway to develop your career in hospitality while enjoying numerous employee benefits and working alongside a dedicated, creative culinary team. For a full job description or if you need accommodations during the application process, interested candidates can contact the resort's HR department via email. The position remains open until filled, offering an exceptional opportunity to become part of a dynamic resort that blends hospitality with the natural beauty of Hood Canal.
