The company is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join its dynamic culinary team. This is a full-time role that involves preparing and cooking a diverse range of dishes while adhering strictly to club recipes and standards. The Line Cook will play an essential role in ensuring that food is prepared efficiently, safely, and with the utmost attention to hygiene and quality. The position includes responsibilities such as setting up and breaking down stations, maintaining a clean work environment, and complying with all health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will work closely under the supervision of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Food and Beverage Manager, and Director of Food and Beverage, contributing to the continuous success of the club’s culinary services.

As a Line Cook at the club, you will be expected to have a solid knowledge of food preparation techniques for a variety of cuisine types, ranging from bulk recipe preparation like soups and sauces to handling grilled, sautéed, or deep-fried foods. Precision in following recipes is critical, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish served. The role demands a person who not only has technical culinary skills but also exhibits a warm and cheerful personality, presents a neat appearance, and uses tact and good judgment in interactions with colleagues and management.

The working environment is fast-paced and physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand and move extensively throughout shifts. The role also necessitates stringent observance of food safety protocols and personal hygiene. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years of relevant experience or training
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed
  • Knowledge and ability to perform essential duties during emergencies
  • Knowledge of food handling and preparation principles and procedures for all foods produced and served in the club
  • Familiarity with multiple levels of cuisine and cooking
  • Experience working with all types of kitchen equipment
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as stair climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching frequently
  • Capability to lift, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to endure continuous repetitive motions in a fast-paced, hot, humid, and noisy kitchen environment
  • Ability to maintain fine motor skills and dexterity
  • Tolerance for exposure to varying temperatures including working near ovens, grills, fryers, and coolers or freezers
  • Ability to handle the physical and mental demands of a high-stress environment

Job Duties

  • Set up the work area and requisition products and supplies per standard procedures
  • Follow club-standard recipes precisely, preparing assigned items and handling station-specific foods, including bulk recipes and grilled, sautéed, and deep-fried foods
  • Properly cover, date, and store all meats, poultry, and seafood
  • Clean and sanitize all work areas and maintain a hygienic workstation
  • Notify supervisor of anticipated shortages in advance
  • Adhere to safe and sanitary food handling practices, including personal hygiene
  • Return soiled food prep utensils and small wares to designated areas
  • Comply with state and local health and food safety regulations
  • Assist with washing dishes if needed or directed by the supervisor
  • Operate food production and serving equipment per manufacturer instructions
  • Make recommendations for maintenance and repair of kitchen equipment
  • Assist with additional tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef, Executive Chef, Food and Beverage Manager, or Director of Food and Beverage
