The Line Cook role at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games is a part-time position vital to maintaining the high standards of food quality and guest satisfaction within the restaurant. This role involves preparing dishes and prepping ingredients with a consistent focus on quality and timely delivery to ensure an exceptional dining experience for guests. The Line Cook will work closely with wait staff and managers to resolve any issues promptly and maintain smooth kitchen operations. Knowledge of the menu, proper food handling practices, and kitchen safety guidelines are essential elements of this position.

Candidates should be prepared to work varied shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the fast-paced entertainment center environment. The role demands physical endurance for standing and walking for extended periods and ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally. Attention to cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils is also critical to the Line Cook’s success in this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior line cook experience strongly preferred
  • ability to work varied schedules including days, nights, holidays and weekends
  • ability to be pleasant, upbeat and sociable throughout the workday
  • physical ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to perform duties requiring bending, reaching, turning, lifting and climbing
  • ability to understand, follow and maintain safety standards at all times

Job Duties

  • Work the cook line and prepare dishes and prep items to a high standard of excellence
  • ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely manner
  • remain knowledgeable about the restaurant menu and make accommodations on individual orders as requested by guests
  • set up, stock and organize workstation throughout the shift
  • practice proper storeroom and inventory control procedures
  • follow proper heating and cooling standards
  • resolve problems with wait staff, customer orders, or other food-related issues in the kitchen in a timely and efficient manner
  • understand the safety practices and know correct set up, operation, break down and cleanup of all equipment
  • maintain utensils such as knives in safe and appropriate working condition as well as ensure that all utensils are clean before each use
  • label, date and properly store prepped and cooked foods
  • follows proper safety and sanitation guidelines according to local and company health regulations
  • assist with guest recovery and notifies manager to ensure positive guest experiences
  • constant working knowledge of Andretti brand, product and policies and procedures
  • communicate clearly and professionally while interacting enthusiastically with guests and fellow co-workers
  • perform opening, running and closing department duties as assigned
  • prior line cook experience is strongly preferred
