LodgeWorks, a privately held hotel development and management company, has brought its rich 35-plus years of hospitality expertise to this property. Currently, LodgeWorks is seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join their dynamic team at Archer Hotel Burlington.

The Line Cook plays a pivotal role in maintaining the hotel's high culinary standards. This position involves preparing, seasoning, and cooking menu and non-menu items according to established LodgeWorks specifications, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish served. The role demands strict adherence to food safety regulations, cleanliness, and sanitation protocols, as well as vibrant collaboration with the Sales and service teams to support guests, meetings, events, catering, restaurants, and bars. The Line Cook position offers an hourly wage between $19 and $24, reflecting the candidate's experience and skill level.

Daily responsibilities include maintaining friendly and service-oriented interactions with both guests and colleagues, punctual attendance, meticulous cleaning and sanitizing of all food preparation and kitchen areas, proper food storage and freshness monitoring, and efficient workstation management. The cook is also responsible for the safe operation of kitchen equipment, identifying and reporting hazards, managing food inventory and waste control, preparing food items to recipe standards, and consistently fulfilling sanitation and safety requirements as per OSHA and MSDS guidelines. Additional duties involve performing daily side work with enthusiasm and assisting management with other tasks as needed. This comprehensive role requires someone who is agile, safety-conscious, adept at communication, and passionate about delivering exceptional hospitality experiences. The successful candidate will be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling physical demands such as lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season and cook menu and non-menu orders according to LodgeWorks specifications
  • Clean and sanitize all work areas including kitchens, food preparation, dish washing, storage, and service areas
  • Follow safe food handling and service practices
  • Work closely with Sales staff to service guests, meetings, events, catering, restaurants and bars
  • Maintain regular attendance and approach all encounters with a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Inspect and clean food preparation equipment and work surfaces to ensure sanitation
  • Manage food freshness, proper storage and inventory levels
  • Set up, clear and break down workstation
  • Utilize kitchen equipment with adherence to safety procedures
  • Identify hazards and report risks to management
  • Control waste and maintain appropriate portion sizes to manage food cost
  • Practice safe work procedures and comply with OSHA and MSDS standards
  • Execute daily side work with motivation
  • Assist management with additional tasks as requested
