The role of Line Cook at Sandpearl Resort presents an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals who are passionate about delivering outstanding food in a dynamic environment. Based at one of the resort’s acclaimed dining venues, such as the vibrant Tate Island Grill or the sophisticated Caretta on the Gulf, you will work alongside a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff to ensure that every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. This hourly position, paying between $16.00 and $18.00 per hour, offers hands-on involvement in all aspects of food preparation including station setup, maintaining sanitation standards, monitoring inventory, and adhering to the chef’s recipe and presentation guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous kitchen or line cook experience preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to follow recipe and portion control guidelines
  • physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED a plus but not required
  • previous experience a plus
  • a thorough and deep understanding of professional cooking including basic techniques and working food knowledge
  • understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures
  • previous prep or line cook experience
  • professional communications skills are required

Job Duties

  • Sets up the station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines
  • prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant
  • restocks all items as needed throughout the shift and is responsible for taking inventory after service
  • cleans and maintains stations in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
  • has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas
  • performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by the Chef, and Sous Chef at any time
