We are currently seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The Line Cook plays a crucial role in preparing all food items ordered and ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and safely. This position is responsible for managing an assigned cooking station that includes setting up and stocking the area, preparing ingredients, and cooking dishes according to Wood Ranch’s recipes and specifications. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety standards are essential, as the Line Cook ensures that all food items are properly labeled, stored, and rotated to maintain freshness. The role demands proficiency in basic cooking techniques such as slicing, chopping, frying, broiling, and grilling, as well as the ability to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and uphold hygiene codes.
The ideal candidate will bring at least six months of experience working as a line cook or prep cook in a full-service restaurant and possess a basic understanding of sanitation and food handling procedures. Wood Ranch values individuals who can work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment, communicate openly with management, and contribute positively to team efforts. Physical stamina and the ability to work late nights and irregular hours are necessary due to the demanding nature of kitchen work. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a line cook or prep cook in a full-service restaurant
- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety
- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn food handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and respond positively to feedback
- Ability to maintain personal hygiene
- Physically able to stand and move around for extended periods of time
- Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs at times
- Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours
- Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks
- Physically able to continuously bend, reach, and twist

Job Duties
- Setting up and sanitizing workstations
- Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and tools
- Preparing food according to Wood Ranch recipes and health department standards
- Ensuring all food items are labelled, properly stored, and easily accessible
- Ensuring freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Seasoning and cooking food according to Wood Ranch recipes and standards
- Performing culinary duties, including slicing, chopping, frying, broiling, and grilling
- Communicating openly with management regarding any work-related concerns
- Ensuring and promoting kitchen safety, hygiene codes, and cleanliness
- Performing other related duties as assigned
