The Line Cook position at Grand Living is a vital role responsible for enhancing the dining experience of residents by delivering high-quality food production. Scheduled from 11:00am to 7:30pm with Sundays and Mondays off, this role offers a balanced workweek with consistent days off. The line cook will work under the general guidance of the Executive Chef, abiding by the community standards, practices, and culinary philosophy. The role demands culinary skills in cooking meats, vegetables, potatoes, breads, desserts, and other food items in a fast-paced, cook-to-order environment. The position requires a professional, friendly, courteous, and timely manner reflecting Grand Living’s commitment to "The Sterling Touch" service approach, which guarantees a high level of satisfaction for both residents and their guests. The line cook’s responsibilities include maintaining control over portion sizes, food quality, and preparation within their station. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary arts or apprenticeship preferred
- One or more years of experience in a fast-paced cook-to-order kitchen preferred
- One or more years of scratch cooking experience preferred
- Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
- Ability to read, write and understand English to follow recipes and communicate
- Manual dexterity of hands and arms for kitchen equipment use
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull without extended sitting
- Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull 50 pounds
- Ability to work in varying temperature ranges
Job Qualifications

- Experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
- Experience with scratch cooking preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals in a timely manner according to recipes and standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station
