Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary arts or apprenticeship preferred
  • One or more years of experience in a fast-paced cook-to-order kitchen preferred
  • One or more years of scratch cooking experience preferred
  • Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and understand English to follow recipes and communicate
  • Manual dexterity of hands and arms for kitchen equipment use
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull without extended sitting
  • Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying temperature ranges

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • Experience cooking in a fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchen preferred
  • Experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • Experience with sauté or broiler preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Manual dexterity to use kitchen tools
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals in a timely manner according to recipes and standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work station
  • Monitor food quality and portion control to minimize waste
  • Assist in inventory management and requisition of kitchen supplies
  • Model professional and courteous behavior in interactions with residents and team members
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal service efficiently
