The position available is for a Line Cook, a critical role within the club's culinary team. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, the Line Cook plays an essential part in maintaining the club’s culinary standards by preparing food according to precise recipes and quality requirements. This role is hourly and offers full-time and part-time opportunities, classified as nonexempt. Working hours vary depending on shift assignments, requiring flexibility and reliability.
As a Line Cook at Hampton Golf, you will be responsible for cooking to order promptly and efficiently, ensuring all dishes meet the club’s high standards for preparation, portioning, and garnishing. The role involves working closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to execute the menu consistently and deliver excellence in product quality while maintaining cost controls. You will be entrusted with following standardized food recipes and beverage guidelines to produce consistent food quality and portion control, which helps enhance the member dining experience. Working in this dynamic environment requires a passion for food, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented setting.
The Line Cook's responsibilities extend beyond food preparation. You will also be involved in receiving and checking food and supplies, ensuring proper storage and freshness, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and executing opening and closing checklists. Additionally, protecting the club’s assets and adhering to Hampton Golf’s policies, standards, and guidelines is paramount. The role demands a commitment to food safety, as maintaining a Food Handlers or Managers Certificate is required.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a cook, strong knowledge of various cooking procedures such as grilling, baking, and boiling, and the ability to use cutting tools, cookware, and bakeware safely and efficiently. Excellent communication skills, physical stamina, and an ability to work well with others in a team are essential attributes for success in this role. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, and holding a diploma from a culinary school is considered advantageous.
Physical demands are an inherent part of this role. The job requires performing moderate physical tasks including lifting up to 40 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently, standing for prolonged periods, as well as bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, pushing, lifting, and grasping activities. The club ensures safety protocols are strictly followed, especially regarding the use of ladders or performing maintenance tasks. The Line Cook should be organized, detail-oriented, and possess the mental agility to problem-solve and communicate effectively within the team.

Job Duties
- Comply with written standardized food recipes and beverages to ensure the production of consistent quality and portion control
- Receive and check food and supplies into the kitchen and storerooms

- Complete opening and closing checklists as outlined by the Chef or General Manager
- Protect the assets of the Club
