As a Line Cook at Belmont Village Albany, you will play a vital role in the senior living community by performing multifaceted duties related to food preparation, set-up, service, and kitchen clean-up. This position is crucial to maintaining the high standard of culinary excellence expected within the community. The Line Cook is responsible for preparing meals from scratch according to detailed recipe specifications and adhering to portion controls, ensuring attractive presentation and quality. Efficiency and organization are key, as the role requires managing multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining proper cook times. The Line Cook also ensures the kitchen remains clean and in compliance with all health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. This role demands a reliable, team-oriented individual who takes pride in their work and demonstrates empathy towards the seniors they serve.

The position is scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM, making it a consistent weekday role with evenings included. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months Line Cook experience in a high volume restaurant setting
  • Ability to work assigned shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential for successful operation
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in verbal and written English
  • All offers of employment are conditional based on successful completion of state and federal criminal background check, drug screen, job related physical and TB test

  • Consistent and reliable attendance is essential

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals from scratch according to assigned recipe specifications and quality standards
  • Follow recipes, manage portion control and ensure attractive plate presentation
  • Properly manage cook times while preparing and efficiently managing several orders simultaneously
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and procedures
  • Follow checklists and company procedures to ensure kitchen is stocked and well maintained at all times
  • Make hospitality, customer service, and resident satisfaction your top priorities in every interaction
