We are currently seeking a Full Time Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have a passion for cooking and take pride in delivering delicious and well-prepared meals in a fast-paced environment. The position requires hands-on involvement in the food preparation process to ensure that all dishes meet the club’s standards for taste, presentation, and quality. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in various cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming a variety of meats, fish, vegetables, and other ingredients.
The Line Cook will be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, inspecting food preparation areas regularly to adhere to health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will monitor cooking temperatures, ensure ingredient freshness, and properly store food items in compliance with established guidelines. Additionally, preparation tasks will include washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment.
This role also involves food portioning, garnishing, and serving to ensure timely and attractive presentation to waitstaff or directly to patrons when necessary. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous kitchen or cooking experience preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety protocols
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a line cook or similar role
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and broilers
- Familiarity with cooking techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team
- Basic knife skills for fruit and vegetable preparation
Job Duties
- Inspect and clean food preparation areas such as equipment and work surfaces to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters
- Ensure freshness of food and ingredients by checking for quality, keeping track of old and new items, and rotating stock
- Turn or stir foods to ensure even cooking
- Season and cook food according to recipes or personal judgment and experience
- Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or personal judgment
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food and serve food to waiters or patrons
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently using methods such as tasting, smelling, or piercing them with utensils
- Wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables to prepare them for consumption
