Job Description
Acts Retirement-Life Communities is one of the largest not-for-profit owners, operators, and developers of resort-style continuing care senior living communities in the United States. With a proud family of 28 communities across 9 states and a dedicated workforce of over 8,500 team members, Acts is committed to providing a vibrant lifestyle for senior residents that includes independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing services. Residents enjoy on-campus conveniences such as casual and fine dining venues, beauty salons, fitness centers, security features, healthcare services, and a wide range of activity programs. Acts fosters a culture rooted in Loving-Kindness and values the diverse backgrounds and talents of its team members, promoting a welcoming and inclusive workplace environment. As a not-for-profit organization, Acts places emphasis on quality care and community engagement, supporting both residents and employees alike.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment that values culinary creativity and career development. As a Line Cook at Acts, you will be part of a mission-driven organization that believes in scratch kitchens and a thoughtful food philosophy. Our menus feature fresh, healthy options along with indulgent choices, reflecting seasonal trends and resident preferences. Team members in this role benefit from a robust onboarding experience including access to the Rouxbe Online Culinary School, where you can earn nine transferable college credit hours through comprehensive culinary courses, helping you advance your professional skills from day one.
This position provides competitive pay ranging from $17.51 to $21.23 per hour, dependent on your skills and experience, and offers next day pay with our PayActiv benefit, allowing you to access your earned wages promptly. At Acts, not only will you craft delicious meals, but you will contribute importantly to the culinary culture, vision, and overall success of the organization. The Line Cook role also invites you to grow with us through numerous professional development programs, university partnerships, and wellness initiatives intended to support your health and career growth.
This is a rewarding role for those who want a balance of meaningful work and positive team environments, avoiding late night shifts. We strongly encourage qualified individuals who hold a high school diploma or equivalent and who have at least two years of progressive experience in full-service restaurants, catering, healthcare culinary operations, country clubs, hotels, or cruise line culinary environments to apply. Our commitment to employee appreciation is reflected in the wide range of benefits including health, dental, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, holidays, and much more. At Acts, your culinary talents can flourish in a supportive and enriching community-oriented setting, where your work daily contributes to enhancing the quality of life for senior residents.
