Job Description
Sapporo USA and Stone Brewing, two acclaimed names in the brewing industry, have united to form one of the top 15 largest breweries in the United States. This partnership builds upon the celebrated legacies of both companies, creating a powerhouse in brewing excellence. Their operations span across both coasts of the country, with breweries located in Escondido, California, and Richmond, Virginia. These locations are not only centers of brewing innovation but also hubs for community gathering through Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens and Taproom establishments. The company is deeply passionate about crafting exceptional beers and delivering memorable experiences to its customers. This passion extends beyond brewing, fostering a vibrant team culture focused on craftsmanship, dedication, and continuous learning.
The role of Line Cook at this prestigious brewery is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic about culinary arts and eager to work in a high-energy, collaborative kitchen environment. This position is tip eligible, highlighting the potential for additional earning through excellent service. As a Line Cook, you will play a critical role in preparing a wide variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other hot food products. The role demands precision in following recipes and kitchen standards to maintain the highest quality in every dish served. You will be entrusted with managing various kitchen tools and equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers, ensuring that each item is cooked to perfection.
Beyond cooking, the Line Cook is responsible for final plate preparation—this includes plating and garnishing cooked items to meet the establishment's aesthetic and quality standards. Working closely with the Front of House teams ensures that guests receive their orders promptly and enjoy a seamless dining experience. The position also involves leadership within the kitchen line, requiring strong communication skills to expedite food orders and coordinate with team members effectively.
Inventory management is another key aspect of this job, requiring the Line Cook to maintain adequate food stock levels and implement proper rotation practices to uphold freshness and minimize waste. Opening and closing duties are integral to the role, ensuring the kitchen is set up for success at the start of the day and thoroughly cleaned at the end of each shift. Cooperation with the Event Chef and other culinary crew members is crucial during special events, where specific menu preparations need to be executed with precision.
Training and skill demonstration are ongoing components of the position, as maintaining high service standards and adapting to evolving kitchen demands are vital for success. Compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations is non-negotiable, ensuring a safe working environment for staff and a hygienic setting for food preparation. Keeping the workstation clean and sanitary, including equipment and refrigeration areas, is part of the daily routine.
Team engagement is encouraged through attendance at scheduled meetings, where feedback and suggestions contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the kitchen and broader organizational culture. As with any dynamic role in the hospitality industry, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed, reflecting the fast-paced and evolving nature of this culinary position. This comprehensive role offers an exciting blend of culinary skill application, teamwork, and professional growth opportunities within a renowned industry leader.
