Acts is committed to providing equal opportunities for employment and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process, ensuring all qualified candidates are considered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
The company is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook to join its culinary team. This position offers a unique opportunity for culinary professionals who enjoy cooking but prefer to avoid late-night shifts. With a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17.51 to $21.23 depending on skills and experience, the role offers next-day pay through the innovative PayActiv benefit, allowing you to work today and get paid tomorrow.
The Line Cook role at Acts Retirement-Life Communities plays a crucial part in maintaining the brand's culinary excellence, culture, and vision. Our food philosophy, rooted in scratch kitchens, emphasizes excitement and passion for food, featuring menus that balance fresh, healthy options with indulgent choices. We see dining as a journey that incorporates seasonal trends, as well as the needs and desires of our residents. Joining our culinary team means being part of a mission to delight and nourish our community members every day.
Acts invests heavily in the professional growth of its team members. As part of the onboarding experience, the new hire will gain access to comprehensive culinary training through a partnership with Rouxbe Online Culinary School. This program includes a series of courses tailored to advance culinary skills and offers 9 transferable college credit hours upon successful completion, laying a strong foundation for a long and successful culinary career.
The ideal candidate for the Line Cook position will have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably a minimum of two years of progressive culinary experience in settings such as full-service restaurants, catering, healthcare, country clubs, hotels, or cruise lines. This experience helps support the fast-paced, high-quality food preparation required to meet the community’s needs. Acts provides competitive benefits including health insurance (medical, prescription, dental, vision), flexible spending accounts, life insurance, disability programs, a 401(k) plan with a 4% company match after one year of employment, paid time off, holidays, and more. Team members are also eligible for tuition reimbursement, commuter benefits, scholarship awards, professional development programs, university partnerships, referral and discount programs, appreciation events, and wellness initiatives.
This role is perfect for culinary professionals dedicated to elevating senior living experiences through passionate cooking and exceptional service, all while benefiting from a supportive work environment and excellent growth opportunities. Candidates who desire a rewarding career in a purpose-driven organization with a focus on work-life balance and career development are encouraged to apply.
