The Line Cook position at SSP America is vital to the smooth operation of the kitchen and overall customer satisfaction. The individual in this role is responsible for receiving food orders and preparing delicious, high-quality dishes following established recipes and portion controls. Proper kitchen setup before shifts is essential so that all culinary experts have access to the necessary tools and products to perform efficiently. Beyond food preparation, the Line Cook manages the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen and its stations, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to health standards. The role also involves requisitioning and stocking all required food items, paper products, and condiments while handling the rotation and storage of products to maintain freshness and quality.

Additionally, the Line Cook is responsible for the setup, maintenance, and cleaning of kitchen machinery and equipment, ensuring everything is in perfect working order throughout the shift. Daily tasks include stock preparation, cutting, and storage of perishables to guarantee the highest quality in every dish served. The position requires the completion of opening, ongoing, and closing checklists to maintain consistent kitchen operations. Job Duties

  • Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
  • maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
  • requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments
  • handle, store, and rotate all products properly
  • perform set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment
  • maintain stock, cutting, and storage of perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required
  • take responsibility for quality of products served
  • perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
  • perform other duties as assigned
