The role of a line cook at Ivar's is critical to maintaining the exceptional quality of food and service that the restaurant is known for. This position involves preparing and cooking food items according to company specifications, working in specific stations such as grill, pantry, or sauté. Line cooks are responsible for plating dishes based on the chef's guidance, ensuring presentation standards meet guests’ expectations. Additionally, the role encompasses setting up, operating, cleaning, and breaking down kitchen equipment to maintain an efficient and sanitary workspace. This position demands versatility, from assisting with washing dishes and sanitizing utensils when needed to consistently upholding strict kitchen sanitation and food safety standards. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and bring a minimum of two years of relevant cooking experience in high-volume kitchens, preferably with seafood exposure. Physical stamina is essential as the job requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing continuous movements such as bending, reaching, and twisting. Possessing a current Washington State Food Handler Card is also a must.
