The Grill Cook position at Original Roadhouse Grill plays a crucial role in maintaining the high culinary standards that the restaurant is known for. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager, the Grill Cook is responsible for preparing, plating, and garnishing all hot appetizers and entrees with precision and care. This role requires a strong understanding of the restaurant's recipes and the ability to follow orders through the POS system accurately. The Grill Cook sets up the work area, equipment, and utensils daily to ensure efficient and safe food preparation. Maintaining safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all times in compliance with health ordinances is essential to this role, reflecting the restaurant's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

In this role, the Grill Cook must apply the FIFO (First In, First Out) principle for food rotation, properly cover, label, date, and store prepared products to ensure freshness and quality. The job also demands cleaning and maintenance of the work area and equipment, as well as occasionally preparing salads and raw products for the cook's line. Due to the kitchen environment, the Grill Cook must be able to work with heat and open flames safely, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle continuous time pressures while maintaining dexterity and attention to detail. A well-groomed appearance and compliance with the dress code by wearing a clean uniform and chef's coat are required. This hourly position offers a compensation rate of $17.00 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid sick leave, and 401(k) retirement plan. Job Duties

  • prepares items ordered through the POS system according to recipe book

  • maintains high standards of personal hygiene in compliance with local health ordinances
  • cleans work area, stores utensils, disassembles and cleans equipment
  • operates dish machine and prepares salads and raw products as needed

  • performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor
