The role being offered is for a restaurant line cook within this well-regarded boutique hotel and restaurant group. This is a full-time position that requires a hardworking individual with a genuine passion for crafting quality dishes in accordance with precise restaurant specifications. The line cook will be expected to maintain sound working relationships with teammates and act as an ambassador for the restaurant, creating personal experiences that encourage repeat visits from guests.
The line cook's responsibilities include ensuring excellent food quality and presentation, maintaining sufficient food stock at the line station, adhering to item preparation and presentation standards, complying with portion sizes, cooking methods, and kitchen policies, and implementing proper sanitation practices to prevent food contamination. Moreover, this role involves maintaining clean workstations and equipment, assisting with daily cleaning tasks, reporting maintenance or repair needs, and following all departmental policies and restaurant rules.

- 2 years of previous experience in restaurant and/or culinary experience in a high volume, full service restaurant preferred
- food handler certification if applicable
- trained in knife skills and basic kitchen equipment usage
- ability to work with minimal direction or supervision
- time management and organizational ability

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to the guests in a timely manner
- stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
- follow item specifications including preparation, execution, and presentation
- comply consistently with standard portion size, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies and procedures
- prevent spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and ensuring compliance with health regulations
- maintain a clean work station including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment
- assist in the daily cleaning of pantry, cooking line, prep kitchen, dish area, stairs, walk-in and prep area
- report any maintenance or repairs needed to the Executive Chef
- follow departmental policies and restaurant rules and regulations set forth in the Employee Handbook and by management
