Job Requirements

  • Previous experience in food preparation required
  • Experience in the restaurant industry is a plus
  • Bilingual preferred
  • A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Knowledge of standard food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and guidelines
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with kitchen team
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen

Job Duties

  • Prepare or direct preparations of all recipes in compliance with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies and procedures
  • Prepare an extensive variety of cold and hot food items utilizing standardized recipes
  • Prepare specially requested items
  • Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours to preserve excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food
  • Select and utilize knives, hand tools, utensils and equipment to portion, cut, slice, broil, roast, carve, skewer, garnish, and grill food on the kitchen line
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards
  • Keep Head Kitchen Chef informed of inventories and report equipment repair and maintenance needs
  • Communicate with Lead Line Cook to facilitate customer orders efficiently within required ticket times
  • Maintain a neat, organized, and clean work area and equipment used in food preparation
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
