Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • culinary degree or equivalent work experience preferred
  • current Food Handler's Certification required
  • ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • minimum of three (3) years of experience in healthcare, long-term care, or a related high-volume, high-end food service environment
  • strong knowledge of institutional food service practices, including food planning, preparation, cooking, storage, and sanitation
  • basic understanding of nutrition, dietary requirements, food safety, and sanitation practices
  • committed to upholding residents' rights and maintaining confidentiality of health information
  • team player with flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals following approved menus and recipes
  • ensure meals are served at proper temperatures and meet portion, presentation, and taste standards
  • maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation at all times
  • adhere to sanitation and food safety regulations (local, state, and federal)
  • collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef and culinary leadership on menu execution, dietary needs, and special diets
  • assist in cleaning kitchen equipment, cooking areas, and other food service facilities
  • attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
  • perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned
