About the Position Grand Living is seeking a Line Cook who plays a vital role in enriching the overall dining experience of residents by preparing high-quality food items with precision and care. The Line Cook is responsible for managing the quality and quantity of meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread products, desserts, and other food items prepared within their station. Operating under the guidance of the Executive Chef, the Line Cook ensures adherence to community standards, procedures, and culinary philosophies while delivering dishes that meet the brand’s commitment to excellence. Besides technical cooking skills, this role requires modeling The Sterling Touch® approach through professional and courteous interactions with residents and their guests, creating memorable dining moments. The position operates on a shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, blending culinary expertise with a dedication to resident satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • culinary arts or culinary apprenticeship preferred
  • one or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen preferred
  • one or more years of experience with scratch cooking preferred
  • sauté and/or broiler experience preferred
  • ability to read, write, and understand English
  • sufficient manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment and utensils
  • ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull without sitting for long periods
  • ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to perform essential functions in varying temperature ranges
