The Line Cook position at Hyatt Centric is a part-time role that offers $31.97 per hour, designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment. Reporting directly to the Culinary Management Team, this role is critical to maintaining the high standards of food preparation and presentation expected at this premier luxury hotel. The Line Cook will be responsible for executing dishes exactly as specified by managing Chefs, ensuring consistency in flavor, portion control, cleanliness, and overall quality. This position demands a high level of organizational skill and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, managing multiple duties promptly without compromising on safety or sanitation.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a keen understanding of both classic and modern cooking techniques and a trained palate for maintaining consistent flavor profiles. Responsibilities extend beyond cooking to include preparing and stocking the workstation, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, performing inventory checks, and maintaining thorough food storage logs. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- over 2 years previous experience in a similar position in a luxury hotel preferred
- ServSafe Food Handler Certification
- experience with various cooking methods and procedures
- familiar with industry best practices
- must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks
- must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50lbs on a regular and continuing basis
- must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
- must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold), variable noise levels, and around chemicals
- flexible schedule - willing and able to work shift duties that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
