We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our team as backside line cooks during the summer season. This position is ideal for those who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and are passionate about food preparation and safety. The role offers a competitive hourly wage of $20 and involves working early morning shifts from 6am to 2pm. Days off vary, providing some flexibility. This job is more than just a kitchen role; it is an opportunity to be part of a lively team that supports the racing crews with quality food and service in a unique entertainment setting. As a backside line cook, you will have the chance to learn valuable culinary skills, operate standard commercial kitchen equipment, and maintain stringent food safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year experience in food service preparation preferred
  • Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and have the ability to withstand repetitive reaching and bending
  • Responsible handling of hot equipment, sharp objects, and navigating wet floors required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push a cart weighing up to 150 lbs required
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied hours required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year experience in food service preparation preferred
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment safely
  • Willingness to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Preparation, production, and presentation of food items
  • Operation of standard commercial kitchen equipment
  • Set up, cleaning, sanitation, and closing of workstations and kitchen
  • Accurate testing of prepared food items to ensure proper temperature and quality
  • Labeling and dating products to ensure food safety and quality
  • General cleaning duties of area and equipment
