Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- culinary experience
- ability to work flexible and long hours
- ability to perform medium work involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- ability to stand during entire shift
- ability to withstand hot and cold temperature variations
- knowledge of menu preparation according to hotel standards
- proficiency in various cooking techniques
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- culinary experience required
- knowledge of cooking techniques including charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
- knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use of each
- ability to stand for entire shift
- ability to withstand temperature variations
- thorough knowledge of menus and preparation required according to hotel standards
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
- complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
- prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards
- recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
- maintain clean and sanitary environments with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation
- prepare food for banquets following specifications on banquet event orders
- prepare and service food for the employee cafeteria as specified
- prepare all foods following hotel standard recipes
- breakdown buffets and kitchen line, storing food and equipment properly after meals
- work banquet food stations as scheduled
- know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment
- practice safe work habits to avoid injury
- use production charts as per hotel standards
- support any kitchen position in need of assistance
- follow all health department and company food storage and safety regulations
- operate and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment
- maintain Clean As You Go policy
- assist in storage and rotation of food items per hotel procedures
- sign keys out and in under supervision as needed
