The available Cook position at Hampton Inn Louisville Downtown, located at 101 E Jefferson St, Louisville, KY, offers a vital role within the hotel's food service operations. This hourly role requires dedication to preparing food items in strict accordance with standardized recipes to ensure consistency, quality, and guest satisfaction. The Cook will be tasked with preparing meals not only for the hotel's restaurants and room service but also for employee cafeterias and banquet functions, ensuring that all food items meet the highest standards of presentation and taste. A significant part of the role is maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety compliance throughout the kitchen and work areas, thereby preserving a hygienic environment that minimizes waste and maximizes cost-efficiency. This position demands a thorough understanding of food preparation techniques, proper storage methods, and inventory rotation. The Cook is also expected to support other kitchen positions as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
  • prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards

  • maintain clean and sanitary environments with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation
  • prepare food for banquets following specifications on banquet event orders
  • prepare and service food for the employee cafeteria as specified
  • prepare all foods following hotel standard recipes
  • breakdown buffets and kitchen line, storing food and equipment properly after meals
  • work banquet food stations as scheduled
  • know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment
  • practice safe work habits to avoid injury
  • use production charts as per hotel standards
  • support any kitchen position in need of assistance
  • follow all health department and company food storage and safety regulations
  • operate and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment
  • maintain Clean As You Go policy
  • assist in storage and rotation of food items per hotel procedures
  • sign keys out and in under supervision as needed
