Job Description

Bridgeway Community Health is a distinguished healthcare organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and holistic treatment services in the realm of addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care. Established as an innovative non-profit, Bridgeway is deeply committed to serving individuals and families affected by these complex health challenges, fostering a supportive environment that encourages healing and restoration. The organization's reputation is well-established, having received accolades such as the BEST Non-Profit Award by the Oregon Business Journal for ten consecutive years, which highlights its status as one of the most desirable workplaces within the state of Oregon. Furthermore, Bridgeway Community Health holds prestigious accreditation from the Council on Accreditation, affirming its adherence to the highest national standards in professional healthcare service performance. This recognition speaks volumes about Bridgeway’s commitment to quality, community impact, and employee satisfaction.

For individuals passionate about contributing to meaningful healthcare transformation, Bridgeway Community Health offers an extraordinary opportunity to join a team of dedicated professionals who not only work hard but share a profound commitment to changing lives and restoring relationships. The environment at Bridgeway is characterized by community spirit, mutual respect, encouragement, and a clear focus on personal growth and professional development for all employees. At the heart of this commitment is the open invitation to be part of a culture that nurtures excellence and fosters positive outcomes for both staff and the people served.

The role of Line Chef at Bridgeway Community Health is central to supporting the organization’s mission by ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals through a well-managed culinary operation. This position involves preparing and cooking individual menu items for volume dining under the guidance of an Executive Chef. Successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating and producing diverse meals across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with the flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required. The role demands a commitment to quality control, including maintaining adequate ingredients and supplies, requesting orders as necessary, and verifying the receipt and quality of food products according to organizational culinary specifications.

Beyond technical culinary skills, the Line Chef plays a vital part in providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a hygienic and organized work environment that aligns with Bridgeway’s high standards. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting while accurately preparing food in accordance with standardized recipes, including dietary accommodations for special diets. Candidates should also be adept at record-keeping related to food preparation and service to support operational efficiency and compliance.

Bridgeway Community Health values experience and professional certification. Applicants should have at least three years of culinary experience, preferably in high-volume settings such as a food truck or commercial kitchen, and hold a current food handler’s permit. A background check is mandatory to comply with organizational policies and ensure a safe workplace for all. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and credentials, including a bilingual stipend for Spanish/English speakers. Moreover, Bridgeway offers a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays, retirement savings plans with employer match, fitness membership subsidies, life and disability insurance, generous paid time off, health savings accounts, and opportunities for internal career growth.

If you aspire to contribute your culinary talents within a mission-driven organization that prioritizes community impact and employee well-being, the Line Chef position at Bridgeway Community Health is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career while supporting a transformative healthcare mission.
