The role of the Party Chief at Baker Construction is integral to the success of each project, focusing on all layout activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety. This position bridges technical fieldwork and project management by collaborating closely with project leadership, clients, and team members. The Party Chief leads and directs onsite layout processes, meeting quality control standards and troubleshooting tolerance conflicts and field constructability issues in real-time. This role requires a strong understanding of field survey practices, exceptional communication skills to interact daily with clients and management, and a commitment to safety by upholding the Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) culture championed by Baker Construction. The Party Chief’s contributions extend beyond technical execution, involving active participation in training and certifications to maintain skill proficiency and adapt to evolving project demands. This position offers up to 25% travel to various job sites, ensuring dynamic work environments and hands-on involvement in groundbreaking construction projects. With a minimum requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent plus six years of related experience, including two years as an Instrument Man II, this role is suited for those with a proven track record in layout operations and a drive to achieve excellence.
