Job Description

This job opportunity is with a prominent mountain resort that offers year-round recreational activities, including skiing, snowboarding, and mountain coaster rides. The resort is committed to delivering a safe, enjoyable, and seamless experience to all its guests and employees. With a focus on safety, quality service, and maintenance excellence, the resort continuously invests in highly skilled personnel capable of maintaining and repairing technical equipment to the highest standards. The company is known for maintaining a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment where employees are encouraged to grow and take pride in their roles. As a respected leader in the winter sports and mountain recreational industry, the resort provides an exciting and dynamic workplace that operates in diverse conditions ranging from snowy winters to mild summers, thus ensuring a unique and fulfilling work experience.

The role of a Lift Maintenance Technician is a crucial position within this renowned resort. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing ski lift equipment and various mountain attractions to ensure safe and efficient transportation for both guests and employees. This is a hands-on job that requires working in extreme and changing weather conditions throughout the year, covering fixed grip, detachable, and surface lifts. The technician will perform preventive and routine maintenance to uphold the operational integrity and safety of the lifts, which are essential to the resort's daily functioning.

This role demands a proactive approach to identifying and resolving mechanical issues as well as a commitment to following strict safety standards and regulations, including ANSI, state, and federal guidelines. The ability to interpret manufacturer diagrams and manuals is essential for ensuring that all maintenance is performed according to recommendations. The lift maintenance technician must have excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking abilities, and meticulous attention to detail to anticipate and prevent potential failures.

Besides technical expertise, the technician will often work at heights up to 70 feet, use ladders and harnesses, and be capable of lifting heavy equipment up to 60 pounds unassisted. Physical stamina, comfort with heights, and dexterity are necessary for this physically demanding role. The technician will also support other mountain attractions such as the mountain coaster and alpine slide, demonstrating flexibility and a team-oriented attitude.

Additionally, this position includes responsibilities that involve coordinating with lift operations, ski patrol, and dispatch teams in a timely manner to respond efficiently to issues. Excellent communication skills and a consistently positive attitude are vital, especially in high-pressure situations. The technician may also act as a Lift Operator Supervisor, overseeing, training, and guiding lift operators in managing the safe loading, operating, and unloading of lifts, fostering a culture of safety and professionalism throughout the resort.

Overall, the Lift Maintenance Technician plays an essential role in maintaining the safety and functionality of the resort's transportation infrastructure, contributing directly to the safety and enjoyment of all guests.
