Job Description

The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas, located in Irving, Texas, is a renowned establishment within the hospitality industry. Part of the Marriott International portfolio, the Westin brand focuses heavily on wellness and guest well-being, aiming to provide exceptional experiences that help guests regain control and enhance their well-being during their travels. The hotel is strategically positioned to serve both business and leisure travelers, offering top-tier facilities and services that promote comfort, health, and rejuvenation. Marriott International is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, recognizing that a rich blend of culture, talent, and experiences not only enriches the company but also directly benefits its guests. Their commitment to non-discrimination and equal opportunity employment underlines their values, ensuring every associate feels welcomed and valued.

This part-time Bartender position at The Westin Irving Convention Center is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about delivering standout guest service experiences beyond just mixing drinks. The role demands more than technical bartending skills – it requires someone who is motivated to create memorable and unique experiences through an understanding of emerging trends, local offerings, and anticipating guest needs. The Bartender will act as the host of the space, fostering relationships not only with guests but also with colleagues across the hotel and within the local community. This position is non-management but requires a high level of responsibility in ensuring the bar area functions flawlessly, including managing cash, providing accurate information to guests, and maintaining the quality of beverages served.

Physical demands form an essential part of this role, involving standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, along with the manual handling of objects weighing up to 25 pounds, encompassing movements like bending, twisting, and stooping. The role also calls for adherence to company policies such as maintaining a safe workplace, protecting company assets, and ensuring a professional personal appearance. This emphasis on professionalism is consistent with Westin’s brand mission and Marriott's overarching values.

Candidates for this Bartender role should possess at least one year of related work experience and hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The position does not require supervisory experience or certifications but rewards a keen eye for detail, passion for guest service, and the ability to engage actively in the wellness-focused culture that Westin promotes. This position promises not only a chance to build a fulfilling career in the food and beverage industry within a supportive and inclusive environment but also provides an avenue to embody and promote wellness practices personally and professionally. Working at Westin means belonging to a global team committed to being their best and helping guests enjoy their best experiences while traveling. The Bartender role is a vital link in delivering this promise by creating exceptional guest interactions and upholding the high standards synonymous with the Marriott and Westin brands.
